The Royal Parks offer a prestigious three year apprenticeship programme for ten apprentices every year. Recruitment for the programme is very competitive with well over 100 applications being received for the ten places on offer each year.
The programme is designed to give the apprentice a high level of horticulture knowledge and with seven Royal Parks across London this is a wonderful opportunity for apprentices to work within some of the best open spaces in the country. In the first year the apprentice completes the Level 2 apprenticeship programme, followed by study for the RHS examinations in Year 2. The Royal Parks programme concludes in Year 3 with the Advanced Level 3 apprenticeship. Capel Manor College provides the training for this programme which is now in its fourth year and the success of the programme is testament to the close working relationship that has developed between Capel Manor College and the Royal Parks. The recruitment process starts in February of each year with the successful applicants starting their apprenticeship in September.
